Privacy Policy — X Interceptor

X Interceptor ("the extension") is a browser extension that reads and filters the content of X (formerly Twitter) timelines on x.com and twitter.com. This policy describes exactly what it does with data.

What the extension accesses

Only the content your browser has already received from x.com / twitter.com while you browse: tweet text, author display names and handles, public engagement counts, and timestamps. It reads the site's own API responses in the page — it does not log in, scrape private areas, or contact X on your behalf.

What it stores

Captured tweet data and the filter rules you configure are stored locally on your device using the browser's chrome.storage.local API. Nothing else is collected.

What it does not do

• It does not transmit any data to the developer or any third party.
• It contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or telemetry.
• It does not read your credentials, direct messages, cookies, or any website other than x.com / twitter.com.
• It does not sell, rent, or share any data with anyone.

Data retention and your control

Data never leaves your device. The capture store is capped and keeps only the most recent items. You can erase everything at any time with the dashboard's Clear store button, or by removing the extension. The Export feature writes a JSON file to your device only when you click it; the extension never uploads it anywhere.

Permissions

• storage — to save captured data and your rules locally.
• Access to x.com / twitter.com — to read and filter the site's timeline responses. The extension runs only on these sites.
